A homeowner in Elyria, OH was looking to improve the heat retention in the house and add more insulation to their attic. They found that Primary Home Improvements was their local, trusted insulation company and was schedule with a free, in-home estimate.
Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the free estimate and climbed up into the attic. He noticed that there was old, settled cellulose along the floor and the attic stairs were leaking a lot of cold air into the house. He sat down with the customer and explained the solution to her insulation issue: blown-in cellulose and a hatch cover. She was excited to move forward with the project!
On the day of the install, the attic crew started by prepping the high-quality cellulose to be blown into the attic. They fed the Tru-Soft cellulose into the high-powered machine and started to add it to the attic floor at R49 level. Tru-Soft is an environmentally friendly, densely packed cellulose that will resist unwanted air flow. Once the installers were finished laying the cellulose evenly across the attic, they put together the David Lewis attic hatch cover. Made of lightweight SilverGlo insulation, which is a graphite-infused reflective board, this product will air seal and insulate the attic. This attic can now work like it was built to do!

On the day of install, the attic crew prepped the space by extracting and sucking out any trash or old insulation. They then fed the high-powered insulation machine with Tru-Soft Cellulose. This machine broke up the cellulose into fine pieces in order to create a densely packed space. They blew the cellulose evenly across the attic to reach the same R-Value across the board. Tru-Soft cellulose is mold and pest resistant and will prevent unwanted air infiltration. This customer was very excited to have a working attic that would help control the temperatures in their entire home!
